What We Do

IVI ADR is a dispute resolution company serving exclusively insureds and insurers.  Currently, Bill Knowles is the sole neutral at IVI ADR.  Bill has been practicing law in the Pacific Northwest since 1987.  During that time his practice has focused on insurance coverage disputes and insurance defense.  The coverage disputes include claims arising from contruction site accidents and losses, construction defects, boating accidents, product liablity, catastrophic site accidents, wrongful death, serious injury, trucking accidents, automobile accidents, home losses, water losses, floods, storm events, business interruption, and pollution losses.  Bill has evaluated coverage for claims under personal lines, CGL, E&O, Trucking, Special Event, Builders Risk and other policies.  And he has been involved in numerouse litigated cases where extra-contractual claims (bad faith, violation of the consumer protection act, violation of the insurance fair conduct act, etc.) have been asserted.

IVI ADR brings a unique perspective to coverage disputes because Bill was an active litigator and trial attorney in coverage disputes since 1987 and spent the majority of the last 15 years of practice providing coverage advice to insurers.  In that role, he had to evaluate not only whether there was coverage, but also evaluate how the claim or loss had been handled up to that point in time.  Included within this evaluative process was the need to apply the applicable law to the facts and render an opinion and recommended course of action.  In order to do this, Bill had to be objective and provide advice that was designed to guide his clients to early resolution of any coverage dispute.  He brings this same approach to dispute resolution.
